SET

Definition: A set is a collection of distinct objects, called elements, considered as a single thing

An example of a set would be all the weapons.

ELEMENT

Definiton:An object that belongs to a set

An example of this would be the weapons in the game

W={Pistol, chainsaw, shotgun, super shotgun,chaingun, rocket launcher, Fists}

SUBSET

Definition: A subset is a smaller set made by choosing some (or all) elements from a bigger set.

An example of this is:

W={Pistol,chainsaw, shotgun, super shotgun,chaingun, rocket launcher,Fists}

M= {fists, chainsaw}

M represents Melee, which is a subset of W which is Weapons. I listed out the melee weapons in the subset.

Empty Set

Definition: The empty set is a set that contains no elements. It is written as { }.

An Example of an Empty set would be All the waterguns in Doom. There aren't any Waterguns in Doom so the set would be empty.

Cardinality

Definition: Cardinality means the number of elements in a set.

We don't count repeated elements

An example of this would be the number of weapons in Doom.

|W|= 8

I included Doom 2's super shotgun because Doom 2 has all the same weapons with the exception of the added Super Shotgun
